The multiplayer mode is somewhat tricky to get working and to work with, though the GOG release has some shortcuts to let you use DOSBox's modem emulation features over the internet. One neat thing is that because the game plays virtually the same on every system, the DOS version of Populous can actually connect with other versions on other kinds of systems!
Later versions of the game would come with additional landscapes beyond the original four, though apparently there's an expansion to the original game that also does this. While it didn't come with the GOG release at the time I made this video, it DOES now! :)
I find it hilarious that the manual for this game tells you the names of a bunch of strategies you can employ, but fails to tell you how to actually perform them. ^_^;
