Shovelware Diggers --- Recent Episodes

Since the dawn of personal computers, many companies came along to cash in on the common basement-programmer's desire to make their product known. Combined with the advent of CD-ROM media, this led to some of the most MASSIVE archives of software ever put together, the vast majority of which was easily forgettable. A software title or game which has pretty much become completely unknown since the only place to find it is shovelled into one of thise massive archives is commonly dubbed "shovelware".

Now it's time to unearth it all... with YOUR help!

Each weekly episode of Shovelware Diggers featured a very quick look at three to five games burried away in a shareware software archive I have access to, however, it was up to Patreon supporters to choose which folders I'd focus in on! Anyone pledging $8 or more over on Kris' Patreon page was automatically on the dig team and able to submit their folder selections either by eMail or through Patreon itself! An effort was also made to balance selections out so everyone would get a chance, but it was recommended that diggers choose about a dozen folders their first time, later capped at eight, so that they wouldn't run out of selections too quickly!

The archive previously unearthed was the Softkey 2000 Shareware Games collection. You can check out a listing of the entire directory structure of this collection by going to the Directories page. Folders already unearthed, either on this show, or on Ancient DOS Games, have been marked red.

Below is a list of recent episodes which can be watched on the Pixelmusement YouTube Channel, or you can click the following link to check out the Shovelware Diggers Playlist! Or, if you want to find details on specific games covered on the show in past videos, a fan of the show, NanikaDesu, is maintaining such a list with time-coded links to the videos! The list can be found here: https://adakkusu-san.github.io/sdig-html/

After Week #300 the show will be on indefinite hiatus and a new show, No-Nostalgia Retro Gaming, will be taking its place! Look for a tab on the side for this show once it goes live!
