Skewed Squares Boards

What makes any Skewed Squares pattern difficult is the fact that the very tips of the skewed square tiles can touch the tips of other such tiles, making it very difficult to know for certain which tiles are touching which. The grids in this pattern are consistent however, since every square touches 7 tiles and every skewed square touches 9.

This pattern is not as hard as the Grid pattern for a couple of reasons. All the tiles on these boards touch seven other tiles and the arrangement of the tiles makes it very difficult to mistake which tiles are touching which. Still, it is that arrangement which makes this board more challenging than just a grid of plain ol' squares.

Although certainly not the hardest pattern in the Skewed Squares set, this board is rather awkward and takes some getting used to. Most of the tiles touch seven others except near the many edges and in the centre. Each of the eight tiles in the centre touches 11 other tiles.
Little Tiles

Regular, Large
Difficulty: Hard

This is a deceivingly difficult pattern consisting of slightly offset groups of regular squares and skewed squares. This board is especially difficult to play in the Backwards game mode because even though all the normal squares touch 7 tiles, half of the skewed squares touch 9 tiles and half touch 10!

This pattern is a bit more consistent than the Little Tiles, but not much easier, if any. Every skewed square on this board touches 11 other tiles which means you need to know how to do your minesweeper math before you set your sights here!
Pinwheel

Regular, Large

Not the easiest board style to play but at least it's consistent. Every skewed square touches 9 tiles and every regular square touches 6 tiles. These boards are simple in their design but difficult nontheless. That's part of the charm of the Skewed Squares set is its simple designs yet highly difficult boards.

A similar pattern to the Pinwheel pattern. These boards are consistent too, with each skewed square touching 8 tiles and each regular square touching 7. You're going to find yourself doing a lot of math to get through these boards, even though they look like they should be a breeze.
